Statement of Faith

At our school, we teach and uphold the following core Christian beliefs:

The Bible

We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old & New Testament to be the inspired Word of God– the complete revelation of his will for the salvation of man and the final authority for all Christian faith and conduct. It is true, without error, and teaches us how to live and know God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105; 2 Peter 1:20-21

God

We believe there is one true God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus is God’s Son. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and is alive today. He will come again one day

John 1:1,14; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every Christian, helping, guiding and giving them wisdom and direction to follow Jesus and grow in faith.

John 14:26; Romans 8:9-11; Galatians 5:22-25

Salvation

We believe everyone needs salvation because of sin. Salvation is a free gift from God and cannot be obtained except through personal faith in Jesus Christ and that all who receive him as Saviour become children of God and receive both forgiveness of sin and eternal life.

Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:12; John 3:16

Human Life

We believe every human life is created by God, begins at conception, and is precious from beginning to end.

Psalm 139:13-16; Genesis 1:27; Exodus 20:13

Marriage and Gender

We believe marriage is designed by God to be between one man and one woman. We believe that God created people as male and female – in His own image.  We believe that gender and sex are the same, determined before birth.

Genesis 1:27; Genesis 5:2; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Romans 1:26-27

The Church

We believe that the Christian Church consists of believers who have repented from their sins, have accepted Christ by faith, are born again and sincerely endeavor by the grace of God to live the Christ-life. It is a place for worship, teaching, accountability, encouragement, and serving together.

Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Hebrews 10:24-25

Christian Living

We believe Christians are called to love others, live in a way that honors God, and share the message of Jesus with the world.

Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:1-2; Matthew 28:19-20

Unity and Respect

We believe that every person is created in the image of God and is worthy of love, dignity, and respect. We welcome and embrace all families, regardless of background, and strive to create a community where everyone feels valued and included. Therefore, hatred, prejudice, and discrimination have no place among us.

Genesis 1:27; Galatians 3:28; 1 Corinthians 13

Future Hope

We believe Jesus will return. Those who trust in Him will live forever with God. Those who reject Him will be separated from God.

John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 21:1-4

Final Authority

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs.
The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth,
morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.

For purposes of Springfield Heights Nursery School’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline,
our Board of Directors is Springfield Heights Nursery School’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
